Design of a Four Channel C-Band Multiplexer with a Modified Star-Junction Topology
A four channel C-Band Input multiplexer has been designed and measured for a satellite communication system. Each of the four channels consists of an eight order filter with two transmission zeros. The channels are adequately combined by means of three star junctions, resulting in a compact three port multiplexer. To the authors’ knowledge, the developed device implements for the first time a physical design of a five port star junction in coaxial technology. The innovative multiplexer also achieves significant improvements in dimensions, weight and cost as compared to alternative multiplexers implementations.
